OFFICE OF THE SENIORS ADVOCATE RESIDENTIAL CARE SURVEY RESULTS RELEASE POSTPONED
The Office of the Seniors Advocate’s release of its Residential Care Survey scheduled for June 20th, which included events at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver, as well as locations in Victoria, Kelowna and Prince George, and an opportunity to join via teleconference and webcast, has been postponed and will be rescheduled shortly.
The voice of those who live in residential care carries an important message that needs to be heard by service providers and government funders. To respect the value of residents’ opinions about the quality of life in BC’s 300 publically funded care homes, it has been decided to ensure there is a provincial Minister of Health who can be fully briefed on the issues and who will be able to offer an informed response.
The events planned for June 20th will be rescheduled and notice will be issued with sufficient time to ensure people have an opportunity to attend.
I apologize to anyone who has been inconvenienced however I know we all want to ensure the value of this work gets the undivided attention it deserves.
Isobel Mackenzie, Seniors Advocate
